Is the Reserve open to the public?

A reservation is required for all visits to the Reserve. Please see Tours & Events for options.

What time do tours begin? How long are tours?

All tours begin at 10 a.m., and we ask visitors to arrive at 9:45 a.m. Tours are rain or shine and last 2 to 2.5 hours.

What is the cost of admission?

Our rates vary for different events and tours. Please see Tours & Events for more details.

What is the cancellation policy?

Notice of cancellation more than three days prior to the tour or event date is eligible for a full refund less 10 percent. Cancellation between one to three days prior to tour or event is eligible for a 50 percent refund. Less than 24 hours’ notice or no-call/no-show cancellations will not be refunded or rescheduled.

How do I get to the Reserve?

Directions to Southern Highlands Reserve can be found here. We encourage you to print these directions, as GPS and cell service are unreliable.

May I take photographs at the Reserve?

Yes, photographs are encouraged during tours and events in designated areas. Photography is not permitted in the main lodge. Photography outside of tours and events is currently not permitted. Publication of photographs is by permission only.

May I bring my pets to the Reserve?

No, pets other than service animals are not allowed on the property. Please let us know if you plan to bring your service animal so we can plan accordingly.

Is the Reserve accessible to people with disabilities?

Visitors tour the Reserve on turf, mulch and gravel pathways and boardwalks. The ground is generally even, with slight elevation changes. While much of the Reserve is accessible by wheelchair, some areas are inaccessible. Bathrooms within the main lodge are accessible for those with disabilities. If you have specific questions, please email info@southernhighlandsreserve.org.

Is the Reserve available for private events such as weddings and parties?

At this time we do not allow private events on site.

May I smoke, vape or use tobacco on site?

Smoking, vaping and use of tobacco are prohibited throughout the Reserve, including our parking area.

Are there restrooms on site?

We have two restrooms available to visitors at our main lodge.

Are food and beverages available on site?

No food or beverages are available for purchase. We encourage visitors to bring their own picnic lunches and beverages (no alcohol please). Water fountains and trashcans/recycling are available.
