SOS “Save Our Spruce” Beer Release

Yes, you can save and savor your spruce at the save time!  Join Southern Highlands Reserve (SHR) and Noblebräu Brewery at 185 King Street in Brevard on Saturday, November 7, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM for a special celebration marking the annual release of Noblebräu’s popular SOS beer, aka Spruce Tip IPA.

Noblebräu crafts its seasonal SOS beer using spruce tips gathered from trees at SHR.  A portion of every SOS beer sold at 185 King Street is donated to support SHR’s mission of conservation, research, and education.  Last year, roughly $1000 went towards spruce restoration efforts. 

High elevation spruce fir forests are ice-age relicts and the second most endangered ecosystem in the United States.  SHR is a founding member of the Southern Appalachian Spruce Restoration Initiative (SASRI).  With the help of SASRI partners, SHR has planted more than 10,000 young spruce trees on national forest lands with a greater than 90% survival rate.
